2015-16 Outcomes for Georgia Students and Communities served by CIS include:

  • 233 schools were served by CIS, including 85 high schools, 51 middle schools, 80 elementary schools and 9 combined schools.
  • 124,031 total individual students received services last year: 120,044 received school-wide services and 13,018 were CIS case-managed, receiving ongoing intensive services.
  • 96.9% of high school students working with CIS graduated or stayed in school
  • 89% of high school seniors receiving targeted and sustained services graduated
  • 97% of students in grades K-8 who received targeted services were promoted to the next grade
  • 1,338 mentors, 443 tutors, and 4,035 other CIS community volunteers worked with at-risk students in schools – 5,816 volunteers in total
  • 20,589 school parents received direct services and targeted engagement and support from CIS
  • 61% of truant CIS students improved their attendance
  • 71% of CIS students improved behavior and reduced disciplinary issues
  • 67% of CIS students improved academic performance
