Ron Clark has been called " America's Educator." In 2000, he was named Disney's American Teacher of the Year. He is a New York Times best selling author, and his classes have been honored at the White House on three separate occasions. He has been featured on The Today Show, CNN, and Oprah, and Ms. Winfrey has even named him as her first " Phenomenal Man." Ron Clark brings charisma, energy and devotion to the education profession.

Most recently, Mr. Clark has founded The Ron Clark Academy, a new school serving students from inner-city Atlanta. The privately-funded institution is truly unique for its innovative teaching methods and curriculum based on worldwide travel. Each year the students, grades 5 through 8, apply what they've learned in class during international adventures, and by the time they graduate each child will have visited six of the seven continents.

Susan L. Taylor was the driving force behind one of the most celebrated African American owned business success stories of the past three decades, as former editor of ESSENCE magazine.

Most recently Taylor has been focusing her attention on the National Cares Mentoring Movement initiative. This is a massive mentoring campaign that asks every able adult and our leadership—elected and appointed officials, educators, business, religious and secular leaders and college students—to rally their communities to guide and secure our vulnerable children who are crying out for help. The goal is to create the largest mentoring campaign in the history of the nation and increase high school graduation rates among African American students by 10 percent annually.
