Inspiration

I want to be inspired
By something that will never expire
I want to be impressed
By little things nothing more nothing less
I want to aim for the moon and land on a star
I want something to tell me to keep going no matter how hard
I want to be inspired by something to make me protest
I want something to make me march with no rest
I want something to make me give it my best
I want inspiration to knock me down
I want inspiration to make me take a better look around
And see what the world truly is
I want something to make me feel young when I’m old
Humble when I’m bold
Hot when its cold
I want something to make me feel good no matter what
I want to fall then have something tell me to get up
I want to reach the sky and float on cloud 9
…
I want to be inspired by greatness; be moved by weakness
I want to feel this way from week-start to week-end
From when I wake up and when I sleep and
I just want to be inspired
Get the ball rolling like a tire
I just want to have stories to tell my children
I just want a strong foundation like a building
Who knows? Maybe I’m greedy?
Maybe I’m asking for too much? Maybe I’m needy
But inspiration is like food I truly need it
And when I get it I truly eat it
'Cause Inspiration is like life’s subtitles - it helps things make sense
Oh well, I want it to come I guess I need patience
But whenever inspiration decides to show its face
I’ll use my gift with words and share it with the human race
