I Made a Homerun with CIS

My name is Jamie Hendley, and I am in the second grade. My tutor is helping me read books and work on spelling words. My tutor say to always do my homework and not hurry so I won’t make mistakes.

I like to take Accelerated Reader tests on the computer. I feel really good when I make 100 on my tests. My tutor and my teacher are proud of my grades.

Paul the Pitcher is my favorite book. It is about a boy who wants to be a professional baseball player. CIS gives me free books to have at home.

We get special treats and stickers when we do our best.

In second grade, I am able to read harder books. I like to take Accelerated Reader tests on the computer. I enjoy reading now, and it feels good to be able to read by myself. It makes me proud to read to my Mom, my Day, and my family. My goal is to be a great reader by the end of second grade. I am a better student this year thanks to Communities In Schools.
