STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT MONTH (SAM)

Student Achievement Month (SAM) is an annual contest that takes place during the month of October and was designed to recognize CIS students, grades K-12, who are sometimes overlooked and often expected to underachieve. The contest helps students set new goals and gain a better understanding of the importance of academic achievement and staying in school.

Students enter into one of four categories: written expression, public speaking, creative expression, and computer technology to depict how CIS has made a difference in their life.

Students go through three levels of competition (local, regional, and state). This year’s event had over 500 students from 30 counties. Our sponsors help CIS provide prizes valued to $1,000 to our state winners. To receive information on how you can support the program or become a sponsor, e-mail rreynolds@cisga.org.
