LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
CIS Leadership Institute (LI) is a week-long leadership camp for high school students. Students will experience campus life at one of the country’s most prestigious universities. This week of leadership and recreational activities includes skill-based workshops facilitated by trained educators and community leaders, structured recreational activities that encourage team building, exposure to professionals in various fields during the career fair, and an opportunity to develop strong interpersonal and citizenship skills.

STUDENT PERSPECTIVES
"The whole Leadership Institute has been great, mainly because they don’t just sit you in a room, but rather talk to you about interesting things like the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. In that workshop, I learned how to manage my time better and plan for the future. When I leave here, I will spend some time during the week to plan ahead so that I can get more done. It was great to see all of the cool stuff like people doing skits, and kids swallowing flames, but there is also a lot to learn at the Leadership Institute."

"It’s amazing how the Leadership Institute could bring together these many students from diverse backgrounds and there is no confusion. The Leadership Institute is bringing out a positive atmosphere to help us birth our natural talents and bring them to fruition. The other kids in my group are like a family and are teaching me that I have a commitment if I really want to affect them. I’ve never had a problem in a leadership role, but here I’ve learned how to stand firm and to be a more effective leader. I’ve sharpened my tools at the Leadership Institute."
